- None other than Pedro Almodovar produced this perverse comedy and obviously found a comrade-in-arms in Alex De La Iglesia. In any case, he has mastered the same tricks in the genre of kinky science fiction films! Accion Mutante is bursting with spiteful, vile laughs! Our heroes are cripples and freaks who are tired of feeling like 4th class citizens. In the middle of the post-apocalypse, they join forces to form a terror unit. In an ice cream van, they travel through the burnt-out remains of our civilisation to organise murderous raids on the rich and famous. This time they attend a fairytale wedding with machine guns to kidnap the bride. Many people are slaughtered until the bloodied bride is a passenger on their filthy spaceship. With her mouth stapled shut. And the leader of the mutants, Ramon (Antonio Resines), begins something of a reign of terror. Clearly Alex De La Iglesia had a luxurious budget at his disposal and is reminiscent of the dark science fiction works of the early 80s. Coupled with the humour of Troma. This chaos is driven forward with manic energy. Very pronounced, the attention to detail - even if this is to the detriment of the overall impression. But that's how debut films work! P.S. Although I would like to pass on the theory of one of our clients at this point. According to his theory, Alex De La Iglesia is none other than Alex Cox. The Brit stopped filming at the same time De La Iglesia started. And isn't Igleasia called the Englishman? You see, the Spaniard has already entered the realm of myths.
